Classrooms of the Future STudent Project
Class: 11th grade college prep chemistry
11th grade students were in the process of PSSA testing. In an effort to allow some stress relief for them, and bring into the classroom 24 MAC’s through the CFF grant, this project came into being. Students used digital video cameras available through our school library and University of Pennsylvania’s Science Teacher Institute. Using programs such as imovie, garage band and keynote, students worked together in groups of three or four to develop a safety video on one of six possible topics. The six topics were developed by the class as a whole as topics they felt belonged in a safety video.
This project is planned on being used on a yearly basis at the beginning of the school year during the safety unit.
